Littles University, a partnership between Harford County Public Schools and Harford County Education Foundation, is dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive – starting long before they step into a classroom.

For many young children, the journey to success is shaped by early experiences with books, stories, and language. But too often, children enter school already behind because they lack access to books at home. This gap in early literacy can lead to developmental disadvantages that affect their ability to read, comprehend, and engage academically.

Littles University, a monthly book gifting program, is changing that by delivering curated, high-interest books to children from birth to age five. These books help build vibrant home libraries, sparking curiosity, strengthening vocabulary, and creating meaningful family moments centered around reading. For some children, the books they receive through Littles University are the first they’ve ever owned – opening new worlds and planting the seeds for lifelong learning.

Each book is more than just a story. It’s a gift of confidence, possibility, and the foundational skills necessary for success in school and beyond. In addition to providing books, Littles University offers monthly videos filled with tips and techniques for parents and caregivers. These videos turn reading into an interactive experience, making every storytime an opportunity to bond, inspire, and nurture a love for learning.

Your support can help us reach more children and families, breaking down barriers to literacy and ensuring that every child has the chance to dream big and reach their full potential.

Together, we can open doors to brighter futures – one book at a time.
