TECH Tools
TECH Tools is focused on eliminating digital inequity and providing students digital access at home. For many low-income students, having Internet or owning a tablet or laptop is simply not a reality. What is a reality is that this situation creates educational barriers for these students. With more and more homework assignments requiring web access, having the digital tools at home is important in preventing students from falling further behind their peers. In today’s digital landscape, students can’t learn efficaciously without digital access at home.
Harford County Education Foundation is currently establishing digital lending hubs in Harford County Public School middle school media centers. Digital learning hubs provide an opportunity for students in need to check out a laptop and WiFi hotspot for a semester at a time bringing technology into homes where this infrastructure is absent.
